Description
This is a cart shed located approximately 80 metres north of Broom House farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins, and features a brick extension on the left. The building has a pantiled roof and is single-storey with ten bays, plus a one-bay left extension that is set back. There are eight segmental arches supported by chamfered piers, each with voussoirs and projecting keys. The right end bay contains double boarded doors beneath a wooden lintel, while to the left of the doors is a wide eight-pane window, also under a similar lintel, which has a projecting stone sill. The roof is hipped, with a catslide over the left extension.
