Description
The former smithy located to the west of No. 29 on Front Street in Witton Gilbert is likely from the early 19th century. The building is rendered and features quoins and ashlar dressings, with the left side made of sandstone rubble. It has a pantiled roof and is a single storey with three bays. There is a boarded Dutch door on the left beneath a flat stone lintel, with similar lintels above a shuttered smithy window in the center and a small square window on the right, both having projecting stone sills. The left side has a wooden lintel over a boarded opening in the gable peak. The interior has not been inspected.
