Description

This cart shed, located approximately 50 metres east of Whitethorn Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and features herringbone-tooled quoins, dressings, and an eaves course, topped with a pantile roof. The structure is single-storey with a three-bay front, showcasing three semicircular arches made of voussoirs supported by chamfered, square-section piers that have run-out stops. The gables are coped. On the right side, there is a plank-shuttered pitching window with a roughly-tooled sill and lintel set into the gable end.
