Description

The hydrant, built in 1899 by J Blakeborough and Sons of Brighouse, is a Grade II listed structure located on the east side of High Street in Cropton. It is made of cast iron and features a fluted cylinder that stands approximately 1.15 metres high on an octagonal base. The hydrant has a fluted domed cap with a rolled edge, topped with a finial. This hydrant was installed when the village water supply was introduced by Firth of Scarborough on behalf of the squire.
