Description
This cart shed, located about 15 metres north-west of the farmhouse at Bents Farm, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed gritstone that is horizontally tooled, with hammer-dressed rubble at the rear. The roof has a left pitch covered in Welsh slate and a right pitch covered in stone slate. The shed is small and symmetrical, with entry from the gable end. It features two semicircular arches, with voussoirs that rise from springers set on monolithic pillars on each side and in the center, which have projecting keystones. The pillars and central springer are herringbone tooled, while the voussoirs are diagonal tooled within draughted margins. There is a small round-headed opening at the apex, which has ashlar dressings and a projecting sill.
