Description
This is a milepost located about 200 metres west of Park Level Mine, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape, standing at approximately half a metre high with a sloped top. The west face of the post displays "ST. JOHN'S CHAPEL/ 5/MILES" and the east face shows "ALSTON/ 8/MILES," each accompanied by a pointing hand in low relief. The top of the post is marked with "WEARDALE/H.D."
