Milepost. Mid/late C19. Cast iron. Triangular-plan post, about ½ metre high, with sloped top. ST. JOHN'S CHAPEL/ 5/MILES on west face, and ALSTON/ 8/MILES on east face, each under pointing hand, in low relief. WEARDALE/H.D. on top.
