Description

STANHOPE A689 (South side,off) NY 84 SW Wellhope 8/126 Hole Dam Farmhouse II

Farmhouse, and barn adjoining. Late C18/-early C19. Sandstone rubble with quoins. Roofs of stone flags and Welsh slates. 2 storeys, 8 bays. Linear plan, with left pent extension of one storey, one bay. Low segmental-headed arch in first bay, and single-light window above at right; 3-bay house has central partly-glazed door flanked by late C19 sashes, all under painted thin wood lintels. 2-bay cottage adjoining has side steps to door on raised ground floor, with 16-pane sash at right; first-floor 8-pane narrow light at left, and 6-pane sash at right. Barn at right has boarded door under thin wood lintel.
