STANHOPE A689(South side,off) NY 84 SW Killhope 8/109 (inset) Park Level Mine shop GV II

Mine shop, comprising stables, smithy and sleeping accommodation for miners, with office. Circa 1860, for the Beaumont Company. Restored c.1983. Now museum and display area. Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings; stone- flagged roof. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Boarded doors between ground-floor windows; all windows renewed, with renewed external boarded shutters; all with flat stone lintels. Roof has 3 ridge chimneys. Left return gable has side steps to first- floor sleeping accommodation. Included for historic interest as a relic of lead-mining practice in the dales.
