GV II

House, later inn, now shops and flat. Late C18 with late C19 and early C20 shops. Coursed squared stone with painted quoins and ashlar dressings; roof of graduated stone slates with stone ridge and gable copings and rendered chimneys. 3 storeys; 3-window range. Painted plain stone surround to central passage entrance with late C20 wrought-iron gate. At left, shop front has entrance with half-glazed door and overlight at left of shallow plate-glass bay window under entablature. At right, shop front with fluted angle pilasters and segmental-headed lights to window with glazing bars, possibly renewed, and partly-glazed right door with small overlight, under entablature. Shops have coursed squared stone stall-risers. 16-pane first-floor and 9-pane second-floor sashes in projecting stone surrounds. Roof has stone gable coping resting on kneelers with pendant moulding. End chimneys rendered with ashlar bands. INTERIOR: not inspected.
