Description
The gate piers, gates, and lamp located about 10 metres north-west of the Church of St. James date from the mid-19th century. They feature coursed squared sandstone piers with ashlar dressings. The structure includes two square piers topped with nearly-pyramidal coping and flat tops. The left pier supports a U-shaped loop of iron that holds a square lamp with a high pyramidal top and a small ventilator finial. There is a pedestrian gate on the left and vehicle gates between the piers, both designed with spear-headed uprights and quadrant bracing.
