Description

Perch Rock Lighthouse is a lighthouse located on the north side of Marine Promenade in New Brighton, built between 1827 and 1830 by J. Foster Junior. The lighthouse is constructed of painted stone and has a round shape with a swept base. The top stage features an iron balcony with swept-out rails that surrounds the round light chamber, which is glazed on the seaward side and has metal plates on the landward side. It is topped with a conical roof and a weather vane. The lighthouse stands approximately 900 meters north of Fort Perch Rock.
