Description

This is a shelter located opposite the Palace amusement park in New Brighton, likely built in the late 19th century. It has a rectangular plan with canted ends and is constructed from cast iron. The structure is supported by round columns that feature ornate capitals and open work spandrels. It has a hipped roof adorned with an entablature that includes fringing of pendants and anthemion acroteria at the corners. Inside, there are partitions with benches and screens, although most of these have been filled with translucent plastic.
