Description
The Queen's Hotel is a 19th-century building designed in the Italianate style, featuring stucco with a bracketed cornice and string courses. The entrance block, which faces east, has three windows. Above the cornice, there is a parapet with a panel that includes a segmental pediment and a pinnacle, inscribed with "Queen’s Hotel." The top floor has four-pane sash windows set within simplified architraves. On the first floor, there is a central French window topped with a bracketed pediment, flanked by outer windows that also have bracketed cornices.
The ground floor features a central balustraded porch supported by Tuscan columns, leading to a round-arched doorway with an overlight. On either side of the porch, there are tripartite sash windows. The elevation facing Bridge Street includes five windows on the top floor, with four-pane sashes in architraves that have keystones. The first floor has a roughly central pair of windows with bracketed cornices, along with two similar single windows on each side. The ground floor contains three windows, a door, and an additional window and door.
The elevation on Baneswell Road mirrors this style, and beyond it, there is a slightly stepped-up block with four windows that matches the overall design.
