Description

The pedestal and statue of Sir Charles Morgan, erected in 1850, is set on a stepped platform. The granite pedestal features a broad cornice and has English and Welsh inscriptions on its squared sides, with rounded ends. The bronze statue depicts Sir Charles Morgan seated informally, flanked by classical figures beside the chair, and displays a coat of arms on the back. An inscription on the left side reads: "This memorial was erected AD 1850 by the friends of the late Sir Charles Morgan of Tredegar baronet in testimony of their attachment to the man whose benevolence they admired and whose loss they deplore."
