Description
The garden walls surrounding Nantygarth are constructed from purple rubble stone and feature end-on coping stones. The southern wall extends west from the driveway and includes a pointed arched doorway made of grey stone to the left of the driveway. At the southwest corner, there is a tower formed by two walls, each with a pointed opening outlined in squared grey stone and topped with battlements. The wall continues north from this corner tower, featuring a sequence that includes a square pier, a raised section of wall, another square pier, another raised wall, a pier, and a northwest corner tower. The raised sections of the wall have a pointed loop and three battlements, which alternate between gabled and square designs. The square piers have chamfered caps and small sandstone obelisk finials. The northwest corner tower is less refined than the southwest feature and has one blocked pointed opening. A plain garden wall runs back along the northern side to connect with the garden wall of Machen House, which features another tower. This tower has one face oriented east into the Machen House garden and another face oriented south into the Nantygarth garden.
