Description
The War Memorial Drinking Fountain in Town Hall Park is a Grade II listed monument made of polished grey granite, featuring bronze plaques and a cast iron lamp. It has a square step base that supports a square monument. The base is adorned with half vases on two sides, which serve as drinking fountains, while the other two sides display bronze plaques. The second stage of the monument features plaques on all sides, listing the names of those who fell in World War I and World War II. Panelled corner pilasters support arches with fan motifs, and there is a frieze and cornice. Each face of the monument is topped with a segmental pediment, each decorated with roses.
