Description
Priory House is a Grade II listed building that is rendered, likely over local rubble stone, and features a Welsh slate roof with red brick chimneys. This two-storey house with an attic has a three-bay double depth design and a central rear stair wing. The central doorway is framed by an Ionic half-column surround and a segmental pediment, though the panelled door has been altered and no longer includes an overlight. Above the door is a narrow 2 over 2 pane sash window with a floating segmental pediment. On either side of the entrance are mid-19th century canted two-storey bays, each containing three 2 over 2 sash windows and topped with tented lead roofs. A band runs between the floors across the building, and there is a moulded cornice. The roof features paired stacks at both ends and three gabled dormers with 2 over 2 sashes, with the peak of the stair wing roof visible behind the central door. To the left, there is a later lower wing, and to the right, an added house. The rear elevation has been altered and appears plain.
Although not inspected during the resurvey, it is reported to have a well-preserved interior, including a dog-wheel in the kitchen.
