Description
6 High Street is a two-storey house dating from the 18th century, featuring a pebbledash rendered front, a pantile roof, and red brick stacks. The house has three windows and an additional bay added to the right. On the ground floor, there is a central doorway with a panelled door and a flat hood, flanked by splayed bay windows on each side. These bay windows have 2 over 2 pane sashes next to 1 over 1 pane sashes. To the right, there is a single-storey lean-to with a single window, which has a 2 over 2 sash, with the upper sash being much smaller. The first floor has three horned sash windows that match those below. The roof is plain with gable stacks.
At the rear, there is a lean-to porch over the central doorway, which has a partially glazed door. There is also a single-storey cross wing to the southeast that features a 6-panelled door, which may have originally been a pair of shutters, and a 2-light casement window to the left of the door. The rest of this elevation is largely featureless.
Inside, there is a central passage with a panelled dado and moulded detailing on the plaster ceiling. The room to the left contains a Victorian wooden stair and a cupboard to the left of the fireplace. There is a six-panelled door leading to the room on the right. An old oak roof structure is said to remain, although the building was not inspected during the time of resurvey.
