Description
Upper Kathlea, also known as Upper Celliau, is a vernacular farmhouse built from rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. It features a rendered axial stack and a small modern gable end chimney. The building stands two storeys high, with the main range having an advanced storeyed porch wing on the left and a cross-wing, which may be a later addition, beyond it. The porch wing includes a modern gabled porch on the ground floor and a modern window in an earlier opening, which has a stone voussoir head above. The two bays of the main range to the right have modern windows that have obscured the original details, along with a lean-to secondary porch extension. Inside the porch, there is a chamfered timber door-frame with a depressed ogee lintel.
