Description

Cawdor Farmhouse is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed from rubble stone and featuring a slate roof with squared-stone end stacks. The farmhouse shows signs of alteration, likely involving raising and extension, indicated by grey limestone quoins on the upper floor to the right and at the entire left angle. There is also a blocked opening on the first floor, positioned to the right of the centre.

The attic has three 4-pane windows that break the eaves beneath 19th-century slate-roofed gables with bargeboards. On the first floor, there are three horned 4-pane sash windows, which are spaced wider apart than those on the attic or ground floor. The ground floor features a 4-pane sash window on each side of a boarded door with a timber hood, similar to that found on Llys Cariad, a nearby estate house. There is a smaller third sash window to the right, which is the only one aligned with the window above. The windows on the main floors have limestone voussoirs above their cambered heads.

To the right, there is a service range that includes outside steps leading to a loft door and a small triple casement window on the ground floor to the left. The east end wall has a pair of casement windows in the attic, a pair on the first floor, and two ground floor windows. The rear of the farmhouse features a central first floor 4-pane window that breaks the eaves under a small gable, along with a ground floor lean-to that has a roof in two sections, three windows to the right, and two windows plus a door to the left. There are also three modern roof lights in the rear pitch, and the rear of the service wing to the left has a casement window on each floor.
