Description
2 Monnow Street is a three-storey building with rendered and painted elevations. The roof is not visible from the street, and there is a red brick stack. The building has a single depth plan and features four windows facing Monnow Street, with one additional window on the left side that looks onto Agincourt Square. The ground floor consists entirely of a shopfront, with the entrance located at the corner.
On the upper floors, the facade is enhanced by pilasters at the corners and in the centre, as well as decorative bands at the second floor and cornice levels. The first floor windows are arch-headed sashes, featuring radiating glazing bars above six panes, and are surrounded by architrave with imposts. The second floor windows are three over six pane sashes. The first floor window on the Agincourt Square side is a two-light casement beneath a radiating bar head. The building is topped with a tall parapet that has stone coping.
There is no rear elevation, and the interior was not seen during the resurvey.
