Description

Block of four estate cottages, whitewashed roughcast with red brick plinth, red plain-tile roof and 5 red brick chimneys. One and a half storeys, Arts and Crafts vernacular style. Symmetrical front, narrow centre entrance bay, projected slightly, steep-gabled with swept eaves, and 4-window range each side with eaves gable above. Small paned casements on wall-face: 3, 4, 4, 3-light to ground floor each side, two 2-light to broad plain gables above, the upper windows set slightly in of two 4-light windows below, and shorter 2-light to centre entrance gable, over date plaque, 'IH Pentre Derwen 1914'. Centre entry is plain round arch to open through passage. End walls have 2 2-light windows to first floor. Rear has 3 gables each with 2 2-light windows, centre arch to through passage, and 4 doors separated by 2 single storey outbuildings at right angles with red brick end stacks. Outbuildings are shared back-to-back between two houses each and have 2-light window, 2 doors and a single light.
