Description
Gweckery Farmhouse is a small farmhouse built in the Arts and Crafts style. It features random rubble construction with an informal polychrome character, incorporating some brickwork as dressings, and has later pebble-dash on one gable wall. The roof is covered with fine graded stone tiles and has generously overhanging eaves that display exposed rafter-ends and cast-iron guttering. There are axial and end wall stacks with drip courses, and the gable stack projects with offsets. The building is one-and-a-half storeys high and has a broad two-bay plan.
On the front elevation, there is a doorway located towards the centre, which is sheltered by a lean-to porch supported on timber posts. The door is boarded and nailed. Flanking the doorway are single light casement windows, with outer windows consisting of three lights to the right and two to the left. All windows have stone sills and lintels with hoodmoulds, and feature small panes. Above, there are three dormers in the roof, each containing a two-light casement window.
The rear elevation has a doorway towards the right, also in a lean-to porch supported by timber posts, with a boarded split door. To the left of this door are two two-light casement windows, which have stone sills and lintels with hoodmoulds. Additionally, there is a two-light casement window in a gabled dormer at the centre of the roof. The building has not been inspected.
