Description

Parks Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with later alterations. It is constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar and stone dressings, topped with a stone tiled roof featuring raised coped verges and gable stacks. The building is 2½ storeys high and has three windows on the front. The ground floor includes a canted bay window on the left and paired 2-light windows on each side, all with chamfered mullions and a hipped roof. There is a central gabled porch that has a similar 2-light casement window at the front and a door to the right. To the right of the porch is a larger 4-light casement window with a relieving arch above it.

On the first floor, there are two large gables and a central narrower gable that is set forward, with two 3-light casements and a blind slit above. The central gable features a cross window. To the right, there is a 2-storey wing that has a 10-light mullion and transom window with a relieving arch on the ground floor, along with a 3-light casement under the eaves, and quoins at the corners.

Attached to the right is a lower 2-storey L-plan wing, which has a 3-light casement with a relieving arch at the front and left on the ground floor, a 3-light casement under the eaves to the left, and a similar casement on the front gable end with a relieving arch and a blind slit above. The inner left return features a wide opening with a timber lintel and a 2-light casement with a relieving arch. The right return has a 3-light wooden casement on the ground floor and a lean-to porch, along with two 2-light casements under the eaves.

The rear of the farmhouse has various windows similar to those on the front, with a gable over the rear door that includes an overlight and a 3-light casement above. The gable end to the east of the lower wing has two cross windows on the ground floor, a 2-light casement on the first floor, and a blind slit above. The interior has not been inspected.
