Description
Plas Du is a farmhouse built from rubble stone, which has been whitewashed on the front. It features a close-eaved slate roof with coped gables and a small brick stack at the west end. The building is one and a half storeys high and has two dormers that break the eaves. The dormers originally had recessed chamfered stone mullion windows; the smaller one on the left still has a hoodmould and a lintel above a 20th-century casement pair, while the larger one in the center has a metal 8-pane window set in a frame of a 3-light mullion window, lacking a hoodmould. There is a single light window under the eaves to the right.
On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century metal 2-light window on the left, set in the frame of an original 3-light mullion window. To the left of center, there is a triple casement window in the frame of a former 3-light mullion window, followed by a large enclosed gabled porch from the 19th or early 20th century, which has a door on the west side and a window on the south. To the right, there is another 20th-century triple casement window in the frame of an original 3-light mullion window. The lower windows feature rough dripstones, although the ones to the left and center have been cemented over. The west end wall is made of rubble stone and has a small loft light as well as a blocked 2-light stone mullion window on the ground floor.
Attached to the right end of the farmhouse is an outbuilding with a small east-facing stack and an asbestos sheet roof, which includes one 20th-century front window. At the rear of the house, there is an original center projecting chimney gable with a tall stone stack, and an added rubble stone gable to the left that projects further, featuring a narrow door on the west side and a pair of casement windows above.
