Description
31 Monkswell Road is part of a terrace of five houses built in 1870. The houses are three storeys high and feature unpainted render that is lined out to resemble ashlar, topped with a Welsh slate roof. Each house has two windows, with entrances located on the left side. There are panelled pilasters between each house, and bands at both the first floor level and the second floor cill level. The doorways have part glazed doors, fanlights, and wooden porches that include barge boards and pointed finials. To the right of the porch, there is a canted bay window on the ground floor, which has 3 over 3 pane sashes flanked by 1 over 1 pane sashes. The other windows are plain 2 over 2 sashes, with smaller versions on the second floor. A date stone in the center of the terrace on the second floor reads 'North Parade Terrace 1870'. The roof is plain and features six ridge stacks. The terrace has blind gable ends, and the rear elevation was not visible during the survey. The interiors have not been inspected.
