Description
7 Monkswell Road is part of a terrace of houses built from roughly coursed red sandstone rubble, topped with Welsh slate roofs. The terrace features full height stucco quoins at both ends and at the kink between Nos. 5 and 7, along with stucco cill bands at the first and second floors. The window architraves are also made of stucco, complete with keystones and imposts. This is a single fronted, double depth terrace with three storeys, and each house has one window. The ground floor windows consist of pairs of single pane double hung sashes set in arched openings, while the doorways match these windows and have plain fanlights above 4-panel doors. The upper floors have tripartite plate glass sashes, with the ones on the top floor being shorter in height. The terrace has bracketted eaves and a low pitch roof featuring four ridge stacks. Spiked and looped iron railings are present on dwarf red brick walls, which have stone corner and gateposts. The terrace has blind gable walls, and there have been some alterations to the rear elevation. The interior was not seen during the resurvey.
