Description

Nos. 1-9 (odd) Monkswell Road Roughly coursed red sandstone rubble, with Welsh slate roofs. Full height stucco quoins at each end of the terrace and at the kink, with stucco cill bands at first and second floors and stucco window architraves with keystones and imposts. Single fronted double depth terrace with a kink between Nos. 5 and 7. Three storeys, one window to each house. Ground floor windows are pairs of single pane double hung sashes in arched openings. Matching doorways with plain fanlights and 4-panel doors. Windows above are all tripartite plate glass sashes, but the upper floor ones are less tall. Bracketted eaves, low pitch roof with four ridge stacks to terrace. Spiked and looped iron railings on dwarf red brick walls with stone corner and gateposts. Blind gable walls to terrace, some alterations to rear elevation.
