Description
The entrance gates and piers to The Mount are notable features consisting of four tall, black-painted, rectangular iron piers. Each pier has a plinth, panels, and stepped pyramidal caps. The lower double gates are adorned with spear finials and have cross bracing below the middle rail, with an arched brace above that terminates in a central palmette. The heavy side rails are finished with scrolled finials, and there are similar narrow pedestrian gates without finials on either side.
