Description
The Garage Cottages at Wyndcliffe Court are two attached cottages built in the 19th century from quarry-faced red sandstone rubble, topped with stone slate roofs. They consist of a one-storey-and-attic range, with a cottage on each side of a central carriage arch. The front features five bays arranged in an E-shaped plan, with outer gables that include a 2-light lattice casement window below and an oculus above. The inner bays have a 3-light casement window, and the entrance door is located on the return.
The central feature is a gabled archway topped with a dovecote. The arch itself is round-headed, complete with a keystone and impost blocks, and has an oculus above it. Each end elevation of the cottages has 2-light casement windows and dormers flanking a large 2-flued chimney stack with offsets. The rear elevation includes windows for the cottages, which are limited to the end gabled bays, while the bays next to the arch have garage doors.
