Description
The walls and two gateways of the Walled Garden at Wyndcliffe Court are constructed from coursed red sandstone rubble, featuring dressed coping, ashlar gatepiers, and wrought iron gates. This large square enclosure has walls approximately 2.5 meters high, which ramp up to 3.5 meters for the north fruit wall. The east and west sides of the walls each have a central gateway, marked by ashlar piers, cornices, and ball finials. The gates are elaborate double wrought iron structures designed in an early 18th century style to complement the piers. Additionally, the north wall supports a small original lean-to greenhouse.
