Description
20 Garden Suburbs is a two-storey terrace of six cottages, numbered 10 to 20, each with a single window range. The upper floor is pebbledashed, while the lower floor features stone facing, except for the second cottages at each end, Nos 12 and 18, which have projecting bays fully stone-fronted in a rustic rubble style, complete with quoins and voussoirs. The roof is half-hipped with overhanging swept eaves and red brick chimney stacks, and it was originally covered with Welsh slate.
The cottages have leaded casement windows with brick sills, some of which have modern replacements and cambered heads. Nos 10 and 20 at the ends feature small gables with 2-light windows, while the ground floor beside the corner entrances has 4-light windows. The projecting bays of Nos 12 and 18 include 4-light windows on both floors, with half-glazed doors under bracketed hoods on the inner sides. These hoods are paired with the doorways of the central cottages, Nos 14 and 16, which have taller gables and 4-light windows over splayed bays. The end elevations also display similar detailing.
The first-floor windows and porch have been replaced but are styled to match the original design.
