Description
12 Garden Suburbs is a Grade II listed, two-storey terrace of six cottages, numbered 10 to 20, that features a one-window range. The upper floor is pebbledashed, while the lower floor is stone-fronted, except for the second-to-last cottages at each end, Nos 12 and 18, which have projecting bays fully stone-fronted in a rustic rubble style, complete with quoins and voussoirs. The cottages have a half-hipped roof with overhanging swept eaves and red brick chimney stacks, originally topped with a Welsh slate roof.
The windows are leaded casement style with brick sills, some featuring cambered heads, although some have been replaced with modern versions. The end cottages, Nos 10 and 20, have small gables with 2-light windows, while the ground floor beside the corner entrances features 4-light windows. The projecting bays of Nos 12 and 18 include 4-light windows on both floors, with a half-glazed door beneath a bracketed hood on the inner sides. These bracketed hoods are paired with the doorways of the central cottages, Nos 14 and 16, which have taller gables and 4-light windows over splayed bays. The end elevations also exhibit similar detailing.
