Description
The Honeywell Power Tools Testing Division is a small factory built in a modern style. It features a two-storey L-shaped entrance block with three gabled bays behind it. The exterior walls are a combination of brick and render, accented with concrete details. The metal-framed windows have horizontal panes. The entrance is located in a prominent rounded corner bay, which has a continuous window wrapping around the lower storey. To the left of the entrance are double panelled doors with raised fields. Above the entrance, there is a curved concrete canopy. The upper storey boasts full-height glazing, with panels of frosted small-pane glazing positioned above and below the plate glass windows. The parapet above is topped with a projecting concrete coping.
On the left side of the entrance, there is a taller brick stair tower that projects outwards. This tower features a porthole window on the lower storey and a tall narrow stair light above. Adjacent to the stair tower is a rendered two-storey wing that is set back, which includes two bands of windows on each storey. On the right side of the corner bay, there is a projecting two-storey wing made of painted brick, which also has similar bands of windows. The range at the back of the factory has a corrugated asbestos-cement roof, with the rear bay hipped towards the front.
