Description

The Miskin War Memorial is a tall square pedestal topped with an enriched finial, standing on a stepped square plinth. The pedestal features relief wreaths and a deep cornice adorned with a frieze of flowers. Above this, there are niches containing one order of shafts with moulded capitals and trefoiled arches set within ogee gables. The canopies of these niches display sculpted figures representing a soldier, a sailor, and an airman, while the fourth side features a robed woman holding a long scroll, symbolizing a roll call of the dead. The pedestal tapers as it rises and is crowned by a Celtic cross.
