Description
The upper terrace wall and pavilion on the west side of Miskin Manor is a long buttressed revetment wall made of rock-faced snecked stone, topped with flat freestone coping. The coping features added lamps cast by D W Windsor of Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire. From the forecourt, there are two flights of stone steps on the upper side of the wall, defined by the rake in the wall and square piers with flat copings towards the south end. At the north end, there are dog-leg steps in two flights with square piers and flat copings, leading down to the terrace from the forecourt. The wall continues north and returns to the east. Attached to the north end of the wall, beyond the steps, is a gabled pavilion that is positioned at right angles to the wall. The front of the pavilion, which faces the terrace to the south, features rock-faced stonework flanking a wide opening that is partly supported by rustic posts on dwarf walls. The side and rear walls of the pavilion are made of rubble stone, and it has a stone tile roof.
