Description
The statue to William Evans is located in Bronwydd Park and is set on two square steps. It features a granite pedestal with a moulded plinth and cornice, along with an inscription panel that reads: "In loving memory of William Evans JP Bronwydd Porth the donor of this park. Erected by his friends in appreciation of his life of service and his great Christian philanthropy 1864 - 1934 yn Anghof ni Chaiff Fod." Atop the pedestal is a cast bronze bust, which is an apparent likeness of Evans, created by A Bertram Pegram, a Fellow of the Royal British Society, who lived from 1873 to 1941. Pegram is also known for the sculptures on the National War Memorial in Cardiff.
