Description
The structure is a revetment wall, doorways, and railings at Mount Pleasant, dating from the 19th century. It features a high battered revetment wall with two heights, constructed from coursed, occasionally snecked, rock-faced sandstone. There are four narrow pointed arched doorways, each flanked by piers made of coarse-grained channelled concrete, and these doorways are fitted with wrought iron gates that provide access via steps to the houses above. Inscription plaques above the doorways read 'Mount Pleasant 1861' and 'Greenhill 1866', while the other two plaques are blank. The right end gateway is whitened, and the wall is topped with concrete coping and metal railings.
