Description
The monument to William Evans is a classical memorial made of grey marble featuring raised gilded lettering. At the base, there is a panelled vault displaying the family name in large relief capitals, flanked by urns. Above this, the monument consists of a panelled plinth that bears an inscription on one side and supports four square section fluted piers with moulded plinths and capitals. These piers enclose panels with commemorative inscriptions for William, who died in 1934 at the age of 70, and Annie, who died in 1949 at the age of 81, both surmounted by an urn. The piers support a four-sided pedimented cornice, which is also topped with an urn. There is no visible name of the monumental mason, but other monuments obscure the base to the sides.
