Description
The Gateway to Welsh Hills Works is a Grade II listed structure featuring a decorative arch made of brick in English Garden Wall bond and terracotta. The arch is wide and segmental, supported by metal bands and staggered brick voussoirs. Above the arch is a relief name plaque, which is topped by an oculus set in a square, heavily moulded terracotta surround. The gateway has a Flemish gable with moulded terracotta coping that is decorated with orbs. To the left, there is a smaller pedestrian doorway, and the structure has moulded brick rounded quoins. Originally, the gateway was closed by a metal shutter, with fittings still visible behind it. A later workshop has been added to the right side of the gateway.
