Description
The Former Penuel Chapel is a small chapel constructed of limewashed rubble with brick detailing around the windows. It features a Welsh slate roof with boarded eaves. The side elevation that faces the road has three long, narrow, round-headed sash windows with narrow glazing bars and multipane margin glazing, along with stone sills and ventilator grilles beneath. There are also two smaller round-headed blocked windows visible.
At the west gable end, there is a gabled porch with double doors in the side walls and a round-headed window in the gable. The main building has similar round-headed windows on the sides and a smaller central window above the porch, along with a plaque above that is currently removed and a blocked oculus at the apex. The elevation facing the graveyard also shows some blocked features.
At the rear, there is a small single-storey Sunday School or vestry wing that has a doorway with voussoirs. The interior is currently under conversion, with the plan of the west end open to the roof and an inserted floor at gallery level that retains cast iron piers.
