Description
The lychgate at the church of St Catwg features an exceptionally steep-pitched roof with prominent swept-out eaves that have an almost dog-leg profile. It is constructed of timber and sits on a coursed ashlar plinth, topped with a Welsh slate roof that is surmounted by a large cross. The lychgate is four bays deep and includes a timber arcade. Inside, the arch is wide and minimally pointed, with struts that rise to the apex. The gable's overhang is supported by brackets, and there are double timber gates with braces.
