Description
The King's Arms Public House is a public house constructed of rendered stone with painted surrounds and a Welsh slate roof featuring an end stack on the right. The building has a long frontage with a five-window range of 6/6 horned sashes that have narrow stone sills. The two windows on the right are set closer together and at a lower level. The ground floor has casements that decrease in size as the ground level rises, which is also reflected in the plinth. The doorway into the right unit features a small gabled porch and a boarded door. The building appears to retain its original render and likely has its original roof structure.
Inside, the main small bar in the right unit has an open fireplace with a bake oven and a timber lintel that may have been relocated. There is a deep shelved recess to the right, a tall settle, and some panelled reveals. The ceiling features one cross beam, and the wide floorboards are set on closely spaced joists above a flag floor. There is a second fireplace with a chamfered beam in the adjacent room, which is dated 1711. The long uphill range was formerly divided.
