Description
The barn at Pant-y-gored is a structure built into a hillside, featuring gable ends that are at different heights. It is constructed from rubble stone and has a Welsh slate roof with brick dressings. The barn has been modified to include wide loft openings on the main front, and a cambered arched doorway that appears to have been raised, while retaining lower ventilation slits. There are additional signs of rebuilding, extension, and strengthening. At the rear, there are loft steps running parallel to the barn, with adjacent pigeon-holes and a stepped-down lean-to. The main arch at the rear is cambered and made of brick. On the left end, now sheltered by a later barn extension, there are two cart shed bays featuring wide cambered brick arches with keystones, supported by brick and stone piers. Inside, the barn consists of four bays and has a king post roof.
