Description

Parc-y-Justice is a large double-pile gentleman's farmhouse built of painted rendered stone, featuring snecked rockfaced ridge and end stacks, with a roof made of slates of varying thickness. The ridge displays a join between the main range and the end bay. The main eastern frontage has a four-window arrangement of 6/6 pane sashes on the first floor, which have narrow sills. On the ground floor, the lower sash is plate glazed, accompanied by a later window beside the door at the far right, which has two smaller windows at different levels next to it.

The southern-facing side has a blank gable end with a single 6/1 ground floor sash window, a half hipped roofed porch featuring a similar window and a six-panel door, and a two-window range of the cross wing that resembles the main frontage but includes slightly moulded hoods within the render. An unusual ground floor garden door is present, complete with a 5-pane overlight. On the northern-facing end, there are external steps leading to a loft or former granary, which has a pitched slate roof and a moulded surround to the door, with slightly battered walls. Adjacent to this is a wall with railings and gates that connect to a small colour-washed two-storey stable block, which has cambered headed openings with voussoirs, along with other later openings and alterations, including one ventilation slit.

Inside, the farmhouse features a dogleg staircase made of dark stained wood located in the rear pile. The drawing room and dining room retain some fine plasterwork on the ceilings, including dentilled cornices. The dining room has a central oval within a rectangular panel with swept corners and one grey marble fireplace. The interior also includes wide lightly chamfered cross beams and panelled shutters.
