Description
190 Cowbridge Road East is a building constructed from dark grey rockfaced pennant sandstone rubble, featuring painted stone dressings and Welsh slate roofs. It showcases a mixed Gothic style and includes accommodation above a shop. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The ground floor shopfront has an elliptical arch, and above it is a corbelled four-light oriel window, with each light containing one over two panes, supported by mullions and transoms. This oriel is flanked by single-light windows, each with one over two panes. Above the oriel, there is a two-light gabled dormer that includes a strip vent in the gable. The steeply pitched roof is topped with a tall brick stack. The rear elevation has not been seen. The interior was not observed during the resurvey.
