Description
The gates on the north side of the Church of St John the Evangelist are made of wrought iron and date from the 19th century. They feature a handsome design with three gates, including a wider central gate flanked by two smaller gates. Each gate has uprights that end in a scroll beneath the second top rail, and the top two rails of each gate have an inset scroll between each upright. There are four square wrought iron piers, which are decorated with scrolls and topped with lamp brackets. The taller piers flanking the central gate still carry lamps.
