Description

This is a two-story house with cement-rendered walls and slate roofs. The main part of the house, facing Cowbridge Road East, is one bay wide and features a moulded, stuccoed pediment with a decorative band below and another at first-floor level. It has a three-light sash window with glazing bars and a cornice supported by consoles on the first floor. A later plate glass sash window is set in a canted bay window on the ground floor. A narrow blind panel is present on each floor of the east return bay.

The side elevation, along Church Road, presents four bays. The first bay contains a plain opening with a small-paned modern window on the ground floor and a modern plastic six-pane over six-pane window within a plain frame above. The second bay has a modern plastic window in a plain architrave on the first floor, and a doorway with a round-headed arch inserted within a square-headed casing, an architrave, and a cornice on consoles on the ground floor. The door itself has two long panels, rounded at the top, and a plain semi-circular fanlight. The third bay projects slightly forward with a pediment and a modern six-pane over six-pane plastic window in a plain architrave on the first floor; the ground floor has a shallow, angular bay with a triple sash window and a cornice with modillions. The fourth bay comprises the western end wall of a cross-wing with a pedimented gable facing Church Road; it contains a modern six-pane over six-pane plastic window in a plain architrave on the first floor and another modern window with a bracketed head below. The northern elevation of the cross-wing has a doorway with a moulded architrave and pediment on consoles and a single-light window to the left. The roofs are low-pitched. The interior was not available for inspection.
