Two-storey pair of simple classical houses at Canton Cross. Walls with stuccoed cladding, with band and plinth; slate roof. No.271: Two sash windows on first floor without glazing bars and with horns and moulded architraves. Formerly three sash windows on ground floor, the right hand one now blocked by bank a.t.m. Against the eastern side elevation there is a lower cross-wing with hipped roof; sash window on first floor with modern ventilator inserted, two sash windows with glazing bars and horns on ground floor. Modern porch canted across the angle between the wing and the main block. No.273: two sash windows on first floor, each 6 over 6 panes with moulded stuccoed architraves. On ground floor, a triple plate glass sash window to left hand with moulded architrave and cornice on consoles; to right hand, a doorway also with architrave and cornice on consoles, the cornice modern or repaired; modern half-glazed door. Roof hipped over all with central brick stack. Rear elevation not seen.
