Description
The Cenotaph is a war memorial made of reconstituted stone, commemorating the men of Barry who fell in the Great War from 1914 to 1918 and in 1939 to 1945, with the inscription "For freedom." The central part of the memorial is a truncated tapering obelisk, which has narrower vertical plain panels on each side that step down. The base features panels with inscriptions in both Welsh and English. The Cenotaph is situated within a slightly raised octagonal area, which is surrounded by low walls and includes steps between the walls.
